Duo upgrade on 3/26 features new interface, more authentication options
On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Information Security Office (ISO) migrated from Duo Traditional Prompt to Duo Universal Prompt. The upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to improve the IT security, user experience, and authentication options for University of Utah systems and applications.
Duo prompt updates include:
- A new interface for all Duo platforms, including the U’s Duo Management Portal, web browsers, and mobile app (example below)
- More authentication options, including biometric authentication and bypass codes
- Trusted device sessions that remember your browser and device for 12 hours, allowing you to skip Duo two-factor authentication when logging in
- An improved user experience for managing or adding/removing devices
