UIT is retiring Box’s file transfer protocol secure (FTPS) service. Users should select a new FTPS service for Box imports and exports that complies with University of Utah Policy 4-004, which requires two-factor authentication (2FA) and data encryption, among other things. UIT’s UMail & Collaboration team recommends using Box apps and supported integrations, such as:

The university's Palo Alto GlobalProtect virtual private network (VPN) client for Mac and Windows operating systems will be upgraded to a new version. University-managed devices will be updated automatically. Administrators of unmanaged devices may download the 6.2.8 client from the Office of Software Licensing's software store (login required). After the upgrade, GlobalProtect users running a previous version will be prompted to update their clients when they connect to the VPN. The old client will continue to work in the event users have any problems with the update. |
