UIT Partner Relations

The UIT Partner Relations team serves as a liaison among UIT, university leadership, and IT staff across the institution to help identify and meet demands for IT capabilities.

Initially, UIT Partner Relations is focused on the institution-wide implementation of cybersecurity tools. Working closely with the Information Security Office (ISO), Partner Relations helps University of Utah colleges, centers, administrative units, and research groups to  understand, implement, and document compliance requirements with existing and emerging institutional IT security policies, initiatives, projects, and programs.

More generally, Partner Relations works with university organizations to identify opportunities where UIT can help them share, manage, and deploy IT resources, including client desktops, systems services, application services, platform services, networking, security, and personnel.

UIT Partner Relations goals:

  • Identify the current state of cybersecurity implementation with partners
  • Assist partners in the implementation of cybersecurity tools
  • Develop and maintain an outreach program with university partners to understand IT needs and help identify ways to meet those needs
  • Foster a positive relationship between UIT and partners
  • Create and maintain a partner relationships database to track university organizations' IT needs
  • Establish and maintain memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partners
